Thymio Walker

Arthur Bachmann (10) and Enzo Roy (13) created this walker which they call "chicken robot". It operates in the 'obedient' built-in mode and can walk straight, turn, even do some little dances. It was created in about an hour based on an idea of Arthur and Enzo with the help of a tutor.

This construction was made using only the pieces available in the LEGO Technic 8258 construction set.

The robot is based on a structure attached to the body of Thymio II, two guide frames to control the movement of the leg bars, and levers fixed to the wheels which allow the legs to be actuated via the guide frames. These frames can swivel to allow for the change of angle due to the leg movement.
