The partners of Thymio

The Thymio project is possible thanks to its community of users, developers and enthusiasts, but also thanks to institutions that help at different levels. We thank them, as without them Thymio wouldn't be the great project it is and will continue to be!

EPFL - École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne

The EPFL is the birthplace of the Thymio project. It was in one of its labs, the LSRO, that the Thymio was designed. Today, the school contributes to the project thanks to daily support, promotion of technology and teacher training.

Mobsya Association

The Mobsya Association manages the production and distribution of the Thymio robot. It participated in the development of the robot and is, today, at the heart of the community.

ETH - Eidgenössiche Technische Hochschule Zürich

The Autonomous Systems Lab and the Game Technology Center of ETH Zurich contributed to Aseba, VPL and augmented reality. The school also runs Thymio workshops as part of its outreach program.

The Department of Science Teaching is developing learning materials for the Thymio and performing educational research.

The écal brought its expertise in design for the creation of the Thymio I and Thymio II and continues to contribute to the development of the project.

Inria is developing educational material for teachers, specifically in the project "Dessine-moi un robot", and is the main force behind the Thymio-Scratch integration.

The FIcontent European project, part of the FI-PPP flagship project, has supported research in augmented reality and innovative mobile interactions with Thymio and VPL.

The NCCR Robotics helped to fund the development of Thymio and its scientific validation.

Fond National Suisse de la Recherche Scientifique, AGORA program

The SNF, through the AGORA program, funded the Thool project that developed educational kits for schools based on Thymio.

The Loterie Romande funded the first productions of the robot and keeps contributing to social projects such as offering robots free to schools.

GENILEM is a non-profit association, founded in 1995. Its mission is to coach the creation of innovative young businesses in all fields. It coaches Mobsya since June 19, 2015.

La Maison d'Ailleurs

La Maison d'Ailleurs is a Swiss museum, located in Yverdon-les-Bains and opened in 1976, that presents tens of thousands of objects, books, and references of the sci-fi culture. On the occasion of an exhibition on robots, it will offer workshops with Thymio.

Devoxx4Kids (Twitter, Facebook)

The mission of Devoxx4Kids is to inspire and allow children to be more creative with computers and teach them Computer Programming while having fun. Devoxx4Kids organizes events worldwide where children can develop computer games, program robots and also have an introduction to electronics. Mentors are computer professionals who are volunteering to spend some of their free time to transmit their passion to children.

Technology in learning

Technology in Learning is a non profit organization based in Zürich, Switzerland. It was founded in 2014 with the mission of helping educators use technology in school for ages 5-12. Robotics and Multi-perception Lab, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Led by Prof. Ming Liu, HK Academic Representative of Thymio project, the RAM-LAB is helping in academic and technical development of the Thymio robot system, and to promote Thymio for elementary, middle-school and university education.
