Thymio aan/uit zetten
To turn Thymio on, touch the round button that lies in the centre of the four arrow buttons until the robot makes a sound and turns green. It takes just a few seconds.
To turn Thymio off, proceed as for switching it on. Touch the round button until the robot no longer shows any colour. It will also make a sound.
Voorgeprogrammeerde gedragscodes:
Thymio comes with six pre-programmed behaviours. These are always available in the robot. To select one, simply turn the robot on and select a colour by touching one of the arrow buttons, then touch the centre button to start the behaviour. While in a behaviour, you can touch the centre button again to return to the behaviour-selection menu.
Programmeer nu zelf!
Once you have played with Thymio's pre-programmed behaviours, program the ones you want.
Thymio can be programmed in two different ways, a visual one and a textual one. Discover them thanks to the programming page:
De Thymio opladen:
You can charge Thymio by connecting it to a computer with the micro-USB cable provided in the box. We strongly advise Windows users to download the Aseba software that will install the drivers on your computer.
If you own a standard USB wall charger, for instance for your mobile phone, you can charge Thymio with it. It will charge faster than with a computer. Moreover, if your Thymio doesn't turn on even when connected to a computer, connecting it to a USB wall charger can revive it.
When Thymio is being charged, a red light appears close to the micro-USB connector, as in (A). If Thymio II is running, the battery level indicator also increases. Should you shut down Thymio, the charging process will continue.
When Thymio is fully charged, a blue light will appear close to the micro-USB connector, as in (B).
It is recommended to keep the Thymio loaded, especially for a long period of disuse. Deep discharge can damage the battery.
Basic settings of Thymio
Version 9 and following of the firmware (learn more about the firmware here) allow you to change the basic settings of your Thymio without having to connect it to a computer. In the behaviour-selection menu, simultaneously touch the left and right buttons for 3 seconds (see picture) to enter the settings menu.
Then choose the setting you want to adjust.
