After installing the aseba software package, the only programs which could be startet (with a Thymio II attached with USB) were the Thymio Web Bridge and Thymio Blockly. Starting Aseba Studio, Aseba Studio for Thymio and Thymio VPl, no window was opened and no error message was displayed
Hello,
Try uninstalling Aseba completely (with the uninstaller if you have windows), restarting your computer, and reinstalling it.
Which OS are you on?
I use windows 10. With the help of Educatec, I did this several times. Without success with version 1.6 of aseba studio.
I installed version 1.5.4. This worked after some problems with the USB port. With one of the ports, version 1.5.4 also did not work properly, even after uninstalling the respective COM port.
What bothers me with version 1.6 is the fact, that no error message informs the user that aseba studio does not find the robot.
That is indeed very strange. We will try to reinstall again after specifically removing "Bonjour".
Please try uninstalling aseba once again.
Once it is uninstalled, go to the Windows panel "Programs and features", find a program called "Bonjour" and remove it.
Restart your computer and reinstall Aseba 1.6.
Connect your robot and try to Launch Aseba studio. Does it work?
If it does not work, in the start menu, in the Aseba folder, there should be "Open a terminal". Start it, then in the terminal window type "asebastudio.exe" and press enter. What does it say in the terminal?
If "open a terminal" does not do anything, please go to the "Program files x86" folder in the windows explorer. Can you find the Aseba folder? What does it contain? There should be several .exe files and also a file named "install.log". Please send this "install.log" to me so I can check what went wrong.
