How to check my Thymio product version

Summary:

Because someone gave his Thymio to me, I am not sure if my Thymio is version I or version II. Many thanks if anyone can point me the direction to check my Thymio version? from the studio _fwversion, the 0 field is showing 10, the 1 field is showing 0, the _productID field is showing 8.

Hello,

You have a Thymio II (now known as Thymio), with the latest firmware (version 10).

The first Thymio was not a programmable robot but was modular (separable into 4 parts). It was not commercialised and was only distributed at the 2009 and 2010 Robots Festival at EPFL.

Nowadays, when Thymio is mentioned or used it is without doubt Thymio II, the programmable one. We dropped the "II" in the name because it only served to confuse people.

If you are wondering whether your robot is wireless, wireless robots should come with a USB stick to connect them to the computer. Also, when you open the robot, you can see the additional wireless module above the SD card slot if there is one.
