I will try to give you some hints, but first a question: do you speak (or at least understand) French? If yes, we have a lot of material that have been developed for schools in French. Go have a look at these links:

  • Moti Ben-ari's VPL to text tutorial which contains everything you have to know about VPL and an introduction to text programming. He also wrote a teachers guide which gives you hints to teach with Thymio.
  • The Creations page where you will find a lot of things people did with Thymio. You will probably find some inspiration among these ideas.
  • The activities section in which you will find the discovery kits, really helpful to begin with Thymio, have a physical poster on which work and have some challenges with basic behaviours and VPL.

@ Simon : how well has it worked up until now? I am wondering if I will get enough activity materials for kids for a full year…but looking at the tons of posts on the thymio website, I guess I will be able to use it for all along the year…if you have some feedback to share I would be very grateful:-)

That's a good idea. Possibly also a world map would be nice to see where the Thymio classrooms are located. The school my son is in Germany with bilingual French and Switzerland is also not so far away, let's see. We only start this year with the Thymio.

But these are limited in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Unfortunately, there is a lack of feedback from teachers.
