That's an interesting question (I think never asked before). Concerning cleaning, I would strongly recommend to not wet Thymio too much. Liquid and electronics (and especially batteries) is not a good mix. I would be extra careful with the loudspeaker output and the sides LEGO attachments as they are direct access to what's inside.

You can use cleaning products, but don't rinse it with a lot of liquid. I'm not sure now about what kind of products to use. The plastic is ABS (if I'm not mistaken), I would go look on the web if there are products not to use against that. I would try first on a part of Thymio that's not too visible, maybe with classic alcohol.
