To do so, two things are required:

  • Compile aseba in Debug mode (from CMake configuration tool)
  • Run asebastudio under gdb and report the backtrace on crash.

I get the problem when trying to execute asebastudio. I tried thymioupgrader (in build-aseba/clients/thymioupgrader), there I get no problem, it works perfectly.

I finally decided to give a try to Windows 10, I have it in dualboot, so I can still work with my Thymios :D

There are two different problems:

  1. Enki compilation: Arch is using Python 3 by default, and the Enki Python integration is using Python 2. I have opened an issue: https://github.com/enki-community/enki/issues/8, patches to Enki's build script are welcome! I am actually curious whether it is only a build problem and my bindings work with Python 3, or whether they do not.
  1. Aseba crash: It seems Aseba links with Qt4, but uses Qt5 at run time. This makes the crash very natural. What is not natural is why this mismatch happens in the first place. Could you try to compile Aseba with make VERBOSE=1? Here as well, help is welcome to try to fix that, as I do not have this setup here currently.

If you need Aseba right now, I suggest to install Ubuntu in a virtual machine such as virtualbox.

First, let me introduce myself : I'm Théo, in 2nd of Gymnasium, and I m doing my TM with Thymio (swarm robotics).

I got a brand new laptop, and decided to install Linux on it. I already used a lot Ubuntu and linux Mint, but I got a bit bored of them, and I wanted to discover something new, and I dont have enough time for Archlinux, so I decided to use Manjaro, probably a better choice for a newbie like me.

I really need Aseba for my TM, so I tried to compile it myself. I first got some issues, that I fixed by using the english instructions rather than the french ones. But I still can't launch it.
