If the configurator does not work, but VPL or Studio work (or conversely), make sure to close everything. If you have doubts, check the Activity Monitor / Task Manager for processes named asebaXXXX or thymioYYYY and close them.

I didn't start VPL first and then closed it, I started with the Configurator and now everything is working. So no other aseba programs is running at the same time and the Configurator works. I like to use three Thymios at the same time in a classroom. A student has his own Wireless Thymio and doesn't want his instructions to interfere with other students. So I like to choose for each robot another channel. So I start the Wireless Thymio Network Configurator. But every time the error message turns up: No contact with the Dongle.
