my students want to program the Thymio with scratch. although we downloaded everything several times according to instructions, bit it doesn't work. Scratch2-ThymioII can be opened, but the robots only show an m-bot and no Thymio. what are we doing wrong?
With scratchX we succeeded in programming, but it is not possible to save the programming there.

We are starting a year-round robotics course with kids from local Italian and Slovene communities. This is a part of the social service of our students, who will teach local kids to program Thymio.
The problem is that we only bought one Thymio robot and we will have eight kids per group. We initially thought that there is a possibility that while some kids write their programmes, others can test their programmes with our Thymio. Pairs of kids would have Aseba installed on our college computers.
Unfortunatelly, it appeared that you can only start Aseba or VPL if you have wireless adapter connected to the computer.
Is there a solution to this problem (without buying more Thymios)?

My name is David Doak. Since 2014 I have been using Thymio to support computing (teaching and play!) in Aldborough Primary School in North Norfolk. My experience has been very positive - the children really like Thymio and it has the flexibility to be used with all age groups.

I think that Thymio is a great teaching platform and has considerable potential.

I am interested in finding out if others are using Thymio in UK classrooms (any level - primary / secondary or above).

For the moment this is just out of curiosity - but if there is interest then perhaps we might be able to share experience or collaborate in some other way.

Please respond to this thread - some brief details / info about your experience would be useful.

I would to teach Robotic to children (about 10-14 years), Thymio seems to be a good choice. I've already work with the PoB Bots, it was very cool. I've particularly appreciated "Risbee" (http://education.awabot.com/en/pob/downloads/view/7/): it's a graphical way to sequentially program the robot.

I've seen the page: https://aseba.wikidot.com/en:thymiovpl, it's great for very simple staff but it's not totally enjoying me: I think sequential programming is easier than event-driven for beginners since with sequential we can easily follow the execution of the program. For instance, can we say to the robot "move during 5 seconds, then turn left, then move during 10 sec" with this programming module? It seems not natural… With sequential programming, we just have to put the icons one after the other.

In other words, I would like something intermediate between the graphical way I've linked above and typing code.

So here is my question: is there an equivalent version of risbee for Thymio? If not, how to propose this functionality?

I'm looking for a robot for my students and i think that this robot thymio is a good one. I would like to know if it's a good choice for my students who are 14 or 15 years old.
