Hello,

unfortunately, it is not possible. Scratch was designed to animate characters on screen, thus the code runs on the computer. Robots connected to scratch are extensions, that means they receive instructions from the computer and send their sensor values back, but all the code is still run on the computer itself; nothing is compiled for the robot.
If you want the robot to be autonomous, you can use VPL or Blockly!

Hello,

if you want to use 8 wireless thymio in parallel, they need to have each a different network identifier. If Thymio VPL give you an error message, it means that several robots have the same network id.
When you do the network configuration, please make sure you label the dongles to not mix them, and configure one robot at a time (the others are off and their dongles unplugged). Give each robot a network id (for example 0x0001, 0x0002, …, 0x0008). Do not change the node id. Divide the robots among the 3 channels as a precaution to avoid interference, though having them all on the same channel is not the cause of your problem.

Kind Regards

Hello everyone,

We are starting a year-round robotics course with kids from local Italian and Slovene communities. This is a part of the social service of our students, who will teach local kids to program Thymio.
The problem is that we only bought one Thymio robot and we will have eight kids per group. We initially thought that there is a possibility that while some kids write their programmes, others can test their programmes with our Thymio. Pairs of kids would have Aseba installed on our college computers.
Unfortunatelly, it appeared that you can only start Aseba or VPL if you have wireless adapter connected to the computer.
Is there a solution to this problem (without buying more Thymios)?

Thank you,
Milos Busarcevic
United World College of the Adriatic
Duino, Italy
www.uwcad.it

Hello Charlotte,

I will try to give you some hints, but first a question: do you speak (or at least understand) French? If yes, we have a lot of material that have been developed for schools in French. Go have a look at these links:

The Thool project (mainly using robots as a tool to teach other subjects such as Math, Physics…)

The INRIA forum on which you will find a lot of feedback from teachers. They have created a whole curriculum called IniRobot, just go have a look there

Robot en classe which is a database of courses and activities to be done in class

(in English)

Moti Ben-ari's VPL to text tutorial which contains everything you have to know about VPL and an introduction to text programming. He also wrote a teachers guide which gives you hints to teach with Thymio.

The Creations page where you will find a lot of things people did with Thymio. You will probably find some inspiration among these ideas.

The activities section in which you will find the discovery kits, really helpful to begin with Thymio, have a physical poster on which work and have some challenges with basic behaviours and VPL.

Hope it helps :)

Cheers
