]One construction technique is to use plastic bricks. The use of bricks allows easily demountable constructions. There remains the question of the availability of bricks: what to do if one does not have any? The simplest solution is to buy an existing kit, paying attention to the contents, so that they are appropriate for the proposed purpose. This section presents two examples.
The LEGO Technic 8069 construction kit is designed to make a backhoe. It contains very many bars, a few gears and the basic equipment to make numerous constructions (altogether 609 pieces). There are almost no parts which allow connection to conventional LEGO nipples, which is limiting. However the price is reasonable. With this box it is possible to construct the following examples:
- Analysis of the optical reflectivity of coloured paper
- A simple pendulum whose movement is displayed graphically
- Crane with parallel structure
- Static balance
The LEGO Technic construction kit 8258 construction kit is designed to make a truck. Much more expensive and with 1877 parts, it can allow a wider range of activities. With this box it is possible to construct the following examples:
