Thymio R2t2 Meteor

R2T2 (Remote Rescue with Thymio II) Meteor

The mission

We are in 2032 and our moon robotic lab is running the planned experiments. On earth, a group of astronomers detects a group of meteorites approaching earth at very high speed, and their computations show that the first meteorite will impact the moon in just one hour. The other meteorites will take much longer to arrive, but for the astronomers it is extremely important to measure precisely the impact of the first meteorite to get data and so better predict what will come later.

To measure precisely the impact of the meteorite, we have four robots on the moon equipped with all the necessary scientific instruments, but they are now in the moon robotic lab. The goal of the mission is to drive the four robots toward the impact area and place them around the location of the impact to get a maximum amount of data.

Environment

Here is a picture of the area connecting the moon robotic lab and the location of impact of the meteorite (star).

The teams controlling the robot need to bring the four robots from the lab to the impact area and position them symmetrically around the impact location to take the measurements. They have one hour to achieve the mission.
