CSS changes and problems

Here is a list of the problems we saw and want to correct following the CSS change of the 1st of November 2016. Please, feel free to add any problem you see or to try and correct them when possible :) For more specific questions, ask us using the mailing list thymio

  • Want to create a template for two columns display
  • Want to create a page listing the design rules (like one h1 title, then h2…)
  • Want to create a page with template codes to display images or reinforce this one.
  • We should go on each page to see if the look is coherent and to adapt if needed
  • Be careful with table of content generated automatically
  • Check the offline documentation generated with titles

Some ground rules for designing pages

Here are the first ground rules for the design of pages (to be continued):

One h1 title on the top

We must always put one h1 title on the top of the page that describes the whole page. This could seem to repeat the left link, but it could be a bit different, more engaging. For example:

A h1 title is coded with a +. For example:

+ This is how h1 title looks like in the Edit mode.

No other h1 titles should be on the page. If you really think you have to add one, it might be that you should create a new page.

h2, h3… titles

These titles are used to separate sections of the page. They are coded with two, three, four… +, depending on the level. For example:

++ This is how h2 title looks like in the Edit mode.

+++ This is how h3 title looks like in the Edit mode.

Typical page to change

Here is an example of the typical page to change. Here, we only changed the title levels to match the new style (one h1 title (+) on the top and h2 titles (++) on the bottom):
